Quality Control - Job Description

  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Design test cases and test scenarios with sufficient coverage.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
  • Perform API testing and database validation.
  • Identify, document, and track defects.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and release activities.
  • Estimate testing effort and testing scope.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and issues.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and blockers to stakeholders.
  • Mentor Junior QA/QC members.
  • Ensure software quality before production deployment.
  • Apply AI tools responsibly to improve testing effectiveness.

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Manual Testing/QA.
  • Experience testing web applications and enterprise systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC.
  • Test case design and test execution.
  • API testing using Postman.
  • SQL queries for data validation.
  • Defect management using Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Test documentation (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Report, Checklist).
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Basic understanding and practical usage of AI tools in testing.

Priorities (not a must-have)

  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to identify requirement gaps and quality risks early.
  • Experience estimating testing effort.
  • Strong understanding of risk-based testing.
  • Ability to improve test coverage using AI.
  • Awareness of AI limitations, data privacy, and security concerns.
