Quality Control - Job Description

Key Responsibility

  • Analyze business requirements and Acceptance Criteria to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
  • Perform manual testing, including Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Execute test plans across multiple environments (DEV, TEST, UAT, Production verification).
  • Identify, document, and track defects using Jira while collaborating closely with Developers and Business Analysts.
  • Validate application data using SQL queries and prepare test data when necessary.
  • Investigate application issues using Browser Developer Tools (Console, Network, HTML/DOM inspection).
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Continuously improve testing quality and efficiency by leveraging AI tools throughout the QA process.

Qualification Requirements​

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Manual Testing for web applications (internship experience is not counted).
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Manual Testing for web applications (internship experience is not counted).
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, including: Test Levels (Integration, System, UAT), Test Types (Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity), Defect Lifecycle.
  • Test Design Techniques:Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, Decision Table, State Transition, Negative Testing.
  • Candidates should be able to independently design effective test cases from business requirements and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Comfortable writing SQL queries involving multiple-table JOINs.
  • Validate application data directly from databases.
  • Prepare and maintain testing data.
  • Jira (or equivalent issue tracking tools)
  • Browser Developer Tools (Console, Network, HTML/DOM)
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing concepts
  • Able to read software requirements written in English.
  • Able to write clear and professional test cases and bug reports in English.
  • Basic verbal communication for working with international teams is an advantage.

AI-assisted Quality Engineering

At NewOcean IS, AI is part of our daily engineering workflow.

Candidates are expected to have practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions to improve productivity, including:

  • Generating test cases
  • Analyzing requirements
  • Creating test data
  • Writing SQL queries
  • Investigating defects
  • Supporting automation testing workflows

Priorities (not a must-have)

  • API Testing (Postman, Swagger)
  • Experience using Playwright or AI-assisted automation testing
  • Experience using AI to generate or review automation scripts
  • Experience with enterprise business applications
  • Experience testing multi-tenant systems
  • Experience working across multiple deployment environments (DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD)
  • Experience with legacy enterprise applications
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification
  • Experience with TestRail, Zephyr, or similar Test Management tools
