“Digital Transformation – A Journey of Heart and Mind,” Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory and New Ocean Information System Co., Ltd. (New Ocean IS) officially completed the acceptance of the Production Data Digitalization Project for Workshop 1 on June 20, 2025.

This marks a significant milestone in the initial success of a comprehensive modernization and digital transformation strategy at one of Khanh Hoa province’s key industrial manufacturing facilities.

From the Need for Innovation to Action

Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory has long been a leading force in industrial manufacturing in Central Vietnam. With modern production lines and a capacity of over 4 tons of tobacco fiber per hour from just Workshop 1, it stands as one of the key economic contributors to Khanh Hoa province in particular, and to Vietnam as a whole.

According to the factory’s management, operating a modern production line using traditional methods led to outcomes that fell short of initial expectations. One of the key reasons was the lack of an appropriate digital foundation.

Before digitalization, Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory primarily relied on manual, paper-based processes.

Therefore, investing in digital transformation was regarded by Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory as a strategic solution — addressing internal inefficiencies while keeping pace with global trends, and aiming for long-term, sustainable operational efficiency.

Project Kick-off Ceremony: “Production Data Digitalization for Workshop 1”

Since September 2024, the “Production Data Digitalization for Workshop 1” project officially kicked off, with the direct involvement of New Ocean IS engineers, along with the technical, management, and digital transformation teams from Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory.

Following the implementation phase, the factory recorded several key benefits, such as:

  • Minimization of risks and errors associated with manual operations

The project acceptance ceremony on June 20, 2025 was not only a moment to mark the initial success, but also an opportunity for both sides to share their vision for future expansion. In the next phase, New Ocean IS will continue to accompany Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory in its digital transformation journey, integrating AI applications in line with the factory’s Mega Factory development strategy.
